Following a strong start to the season, FUT Esports lost momentum and their last two outings against Fnatic (0-2) and Giants (0-2). With the two defeats, FUT Esports are 3-3 on the season, which isn’t terrible; however, they’re out of the race for a top-two finish.
Karmine Corp are the complete opposite. They had a rough time early into VCT 2023 EMEA League but found some traction with a very impressive showing against Natus Vincere (11-13, 7-13) in Week 4 and a hard-fought 2-1 victory against KOI last week.
Karmine Corp’s improvement coincided with the benching of Alexis “Newzera” Humbert, who got replaced by assistant coach Ahmed “ZE1SH” Sheikh, who took over as the new in-game leader. However, while KC have shown improvement, it’s still fair to question whether Karmine Corp can beat FUT.
FUT looked like serious title contenders a couple of weeks ago and are still entitled to some respect. But from a betting perspective, backing FUT at the offered odds makes no sense. Karmine Corp are slowly ramping up, and considering how much better they’ve looked recently, it’s difficult to doubt their chances to do some damage on Thursday.

KOI entered VCT 2023 EMEA League as one of the strongest teams, but they’ve not met the expectations. After four weeks of action, KOI are 1-4, and their sole victory happened on day one of the season against Natus Vincere (2-0). Since then, KOI have been beaten by Team Vitality (0-2), Giants (0-2), FUT Esports (0-2), and Karmine Corp (1-2).
KOI have already lost against all but one (Fnatic) of the top teams, and considering their showings so far, it’s not too unlikely for KOI to end the year with a wooden spoon in their hand. Their next opponents, BBL Esports are not in a much better spot; however, they’ve won two of six series (2-4).
After struggling to produce anything of note early, BBL Esports found traction in Week 4, when they defeated Team Vitality (0-2) and added another huge win last week against Team Heretics (2-1). Although BBL have only beaten two of the weaker teams in the league, they’ve shown improvement – something we can’t say about KOI, who are regressing.
Betting on BBL to defeat KOI would make sense, but not at the offered Valorant betting odds. And as much as we can doubt KOI, they still have good enough players to compete against BBL and force a tight series.
