?Tundra Esports ended the group stage with an excellent 4-0-1 record, which earned them a spot in the upper bracket of the ESL One Fall 2021 playoffs. Beastcoast were similarly impressive (2-3-0), and while their win/loss ratio isn’t as flashy, we have to consider that they had to fight through a much tougher group that included PSG.LGD, Team Liquid, Alliance, and Team Empire.
The top esports betting sites expect Tundra to win, but we don’t believe beastcoast should be priced as high as they are. They might hail from a weaker region, but if beastcoast’s performances during the group stage are any indication, they should put up a fight on Friday.
While Tundra deserve to be slight favourites, the odds should be much closer to even money. Take the value bet on beastcoast.
T1 vs ALLIANCE Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

?T1 and Alliance will clash in the opening round of the lower bracket at ESL One Fall 2021. Carlo “Kuku” Palad and co. last met with Alliance in June and won 2-0 in the lower bracket finals of ESL One Summer 2021.
Despite that result, it is hard to justify a bet on T1 at these odds with the form they have been showing of late. They barely made it into the ESL One Fall 2021 playoffs and in the group stage only managed to defeat Thunder Predator and Creepwawe, which are not exactly top-tier teams.
If you go by ELO rating, then T1 are a much stronger team, but that doesn’t mean much if they fail to show up against elite squads. We like Alliance more at the outsider price.

TEAM EMPIRE vs BEASTCOAST Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Dota 2 Betting Odds: | Empire +488 at BetOnline | Draw +112 | beastcoast +119 |

?Team Empire struggled against Alliance (0-2) on Saturday, but one defeat against one of the strongest European Dota 2 teams doesn’t necessarily mean they are no good. There were some positives to take from that bout, namely Empire’s strong early-game on map one and their impressive comeback at 30 minutes to overcome a 6.3k net worth deficit.
Beastcoast enter this match as one of the strongest Latin American Dota 2 teams, having won the first regional Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) tournament and claimed silver in the second. They even won against PSG.LGD (2-0) on Sunday, for which they deserve some respect; however, one solid showing against a ring-rusty team doesn’t explain the latest Dota 2 betting odds.
Empire are good enough to win, and we will gladly take a shot with them at this price.
VIRTUS.PRO vs T1 Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

?T1 went 0-2 on the first day of play with defeats against Tundra Esports (0-2) and Team Spirit (0-2), but they bounced back with a 2-0 run on Sunday with clean-sweep wins against Creepwave and Thunder Predator. While T1 have been fairly mediocre so far, we expect them to do better as the tournament progresses.
Virtus.pro are 3-0 with wins against Spirit, Creepwave and Thunder Predator, which are solid results; however, we are talking about wins against some of the weakest teams at the tournament.
Based on the teams’ performances so far, it would make sense to favour Virtus.pro over T1, but we don’t believe the gap between these two Dota 2 teams is as big as the betting odds suggest. A draw is a real possibility, but the odds on T1 are too good to pass on.
CREEPWAVE vs TUNDRA ESPORTS Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Dota 2 Betting Odds: | CREEP +793 at BetOnline | Draw +181 | T1 -172.41 |

?Tundra Esports have already won against Thunder Predator (2-0), T1 (2-0) and Team Spirit (2-0) and are one of only two undefeated teams in Group A. On the other side, Creepwave have lost against Virtus.pro (0-2) and T1 (0-2) but managed a draw against Thunder Predator (1-1).
Creepwave’s draw against TP is their only notable result since the team came together at the start of the month. With all due respect, Creepwave are not built to compete at the highest level, and we can’t expect much from them. Tundra Esports should win this match with ease.

T1 vs TEAM SPIRIT Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

?ESL One Summer 2021 champions T1 will face off against Team Spirit for the first time in their history. Sitting at no.3 in the ESL Dota 2 world rankings, T1 enter ESL One Fall 2021 as the team to watch, although they’re priced as high as +750 in the outright betting markets.
T1 are a bit underrated by the esports bookmakers, which likely has to do with their iffy fourth-place effort at BTS Pro Series Season 7 Southeast Asia. However, we wouldn’t put too much weight on that tournament run.
The BTS Pro Series and the ONE Esports Singapore Major are the only Dota 2 tournaments of 2021 where T1 has finished outside of the top three. Although Team Spirit deserve some praise for their performances this season, they have only looked good in regional tournaments. At these odds, T1 for the win is a no-brainer.
THUNDER PREDATOR vs TUNDRA ESPORTS Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
Dota 2 Betting Odds: | TP +275 at BetOnline | Draw -105.26 | Tundra +211 |
When: | August 21, 2021 at 15:30 CEST |
Watch Live: | Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/esl_dota2) |
?Thunder Predator and Tundra Esports are billed as two of the weakest teams at the tournament, although they don’t lack talent. Tundra are ranked no.24 in the world and managed to reach the finals of The International 10 Western Europe Qualifier, where they nearly won against two-time TI champions OG (2-3).
Thunder Predator have had some success on the year as well. They have done well in regional Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) tournaments and reached the third round of the lower bracket in Singapore earlier this year.
Thunder Predator have enough talent to make some noise, but we’re a bit concerned with the fact they haven’t played a competitive match since May. As good as TP can be, it’s hard to make a case for such a ring-rusty team.
ALLIANCE vs TEAM EMPIRE Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
Dota 2 Betting Odds: | Alliance -136.99 at BetOnline | Draw +143 | Empire +732 |
When: | August 21, 2021 at 15:30 CEST |
Watch Live: | Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/esl_dota2) |
?World no.8 Alliance enter their ESL One Fall 2021 opener as -131.58 favourites, which seems fair. Although Alliance are not quite the powerhouse they were in the earlier days of competitive Dota 2, they have been playing reasonably well this season.
Alliance claimed silver in DreamLeague Season 14 DPC EU and won the 15th season with a 6-1 record. Although they failed to impress at the WePlay AniMajor (ninth-12th), Alliance bounced back with a bronze medal at ESL One Summer 2021.
Even though Alliance will be a bit ring rusty, considering their last official match happened in June, they’re still a significantly better team than Empire. Gustav “s4” Magnusson and co. shouldn’t lose matches like this one.
TEAM LIQUID vs SG ESPORTS Dota 2 BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
Dota 2 Betting Odds: | TL -227.27 at BetOnline | Draw +224 | SG +956 |
When: | August 21, 2021 at 18:00 CEST |
Watch Live: | Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/esl_dota2) |
?Even though Team Liquid are stronger than SG Esports, we don’t believe the offered Dota 2 betting odds are fair. At -227.27, Liquid’s implied probability of winning is 69.4%, which is very high for a team that is 2-6 across its last eight outings.
What’s more, Liquid recently dropped maps against Spider Pigzs (2-1) and Chicken Fighters (2-1), who aren’t that much stronger than SG Esports. It’s also important to note that Liquid players haven’t been playing that much Dota 2 of late – based on their activity on Twitch – which suggests they might be dealing with poor morale following their disastrous showing at the TI10 Western Europe Qualifier.
