DPLUS KIA vs T1 LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAIL

Best Odds: DK +127 at BetOnline | T1 -166.67 at BetOnline When: September 1, 2024 | 15:00 KST Watch Live: Lolesports, Twitch

Dplus KIA and T1 will lock horns on Sunday, September 1, in the second round Losers’ Bracket in the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2024 Summer Playoffs. The fixture will offer the teams one final chance to claw their way onto the big stage and compete for the LCK trophy, and according to the esports betting odds, T1 is in a better spot to accomplish that feat.

The top LoL betting sites have priced T1 as -166.67 favourites to walk away with a win, about the same number we got on this series at the end of July. The Esports World Cup 2024 champions won that game 2-1, but they arguably did not deserve to.

It was a tragic loss for Dplus KIA, but not the first game which ended in the same fashion C Dplus KIA getting themselves into advantageous positions only to slip in critical moments. This has been plaguing Heo “ShowMaker” Su and his crew’s run through the summer split, so why would it be any different this weekend?

Despite Dplus KIA’s slip-ups, T1 are not in the best shape ahead of this match. They did not look too convincing against KT Rolster in round one of the playoffs, and even less so in their 0-3 loss against Hanwha Life Esports. On the other side, Dplus KIA suffered the same tough loss against Gen.G in the previous round.

If we isolate performance metrics only from the playoffs, T1 comes out ahead, but that is hardly a good enough reason to take their side of this contest. Dplus KIA remain a competitive team who have to figure out their late game, whereas T1 are just sloppy and look very vulnerable.

This could be a very competitive game that extends to five maps.

NINJAS IN PYJAMAS vs JD GAMING LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAIL

Best Odds: NiP +222 at BetOnline | JDG -303.03 at BetOnline When: September 1, 2024 | 17:00 CST Watch Live: Lolesports, Twitch

JD Gaming will seek revenge on Ninjas in Pyjamas on Sunday, September 1, when the two Chinese LoL esports teams clash in a League of Legends Pro League (LPL) 2024 Summer Playoffs rematch. Ninjas in Pyjamas shockingly won the last meeting, but according to the latest LoL esports betting odds, JD Gaming should get their revenge.

Priced at -303.03, JD Gaming are expected to have a fairly easy time against Ninjas in Pyjamas on Sunday, which does not sound too shocking. They lost the last series 2-3, but it was an incredibly disappointing display from LoL World Championship 2023 semifinalists and not a performance we can expect to see again.

JDG were not sharp on the day, with apparent communication issues and no planning involved in their approach to the series. On the maps Seo “Kanavi” Jin-hyeok and co. won; they looked very dominant but misplayed their poke composition on map five, which led to a painful loss.

Ninjas in Pyjamas failed to make it much further after beating JD Gaming, as they got torn apart by Weibo Gaming in Round 3. There is not much to take from that series, but it did prove just how fast-and-famine Ninjas in Pyjamas can be.

Qualitatively, JD Gaming are the superior team, even though their last clash with Ninjas in Pyjamas might not make it that obvious. However, they did play a close series against JD Gaming during the regular season and once again in the playoffs, making it seem like NiP are the better pick at outsider odds.

From afar, this looks like a dog or pass match, but it is tough to doubt JD Gaming, who have the talent to end the split inside the top-three. Ninjas in Pyjamas seem too inconsistent to find any success at the top level.

TAB esports review

Tabcorp (also known as TAB) is the biggest betting company in Australia, offering betting markets on a range of different sports around the world, including esports. TAB regularly offers esports betting markets and odds on individual matches and tournaments throughout the year. However, due to horse racing and sports being the main focus of the betting company, they appear to lack the variety that other esports betting sites do in Australia. In this guide, you will find details on TAB esports betting, what they offer, where you can find a TAB outlet, and what other betting companies offer esports betting.

TAB retail outlets in Australia

Tabcorp has TAB retail outlets in just about every pub and club that has a gambling licence in Australia, with over 4,000 venues spread out across the country. Bettors are able to place cash and in-person bets at a TAB outlet, with TAB machines and tellers taking bets on every market, including esports.

TAB esports betting can be done at both a retail outlet and online, with many gamblers choosing to use the TAB website or app to place bets on most of their markets.

TAB esports review

TAB is one of the most prominent wagering brands in Australia, but how do they stack up against other Australian online bookmakers when it comes to esports? We will answer this in our TAB esports review.

TAB, like the other bookmakers in Australia, has got a very functional website, outstanding betting apps and a rock solid reputation, in terms of paying players and licensing.

But when it comes to esports betting, TAB is not as strong as some bookies down under, with it clearly not a focal point for this racing and sports specialist.

Included in the esports coverage on the TAB website are mainly the major leagues. For instance, at the time of last updating this TAB esports review, they only had one esports game with betting available, with this being League of Legends. Included in the LoL markets were only the LEC, LCK, LPL, and LCS.

In contrast, another Aussie bookie, bet365, has got upwards of 13 different esports games available to bet on, at exactly the same time. This just highlights how TAB fall down when it comes to esports betting.

Our other major beef with TAB’s esports betting section, is that when they offer markets on an esport, they do not have as many bet options as their competitors. Using the same League of Legends example as above, TAB had six different betting markets on a match, while bet365 had over 15 on exactly the same fixture.

These examples are probably the extreme ends of the spectrum, with most Australian bookmakers sitting somewhere in-between TAB and bet365’s coverage of esports.

TAB payment options

TAB has got various payment options available to fund your account, with these including Visa, Mastercard, Paypal and several others. Most of the payment options at TAB.com.au are instant, meaning you can be betting within minutes.

Just be aware, like all Aussie bookies, TAB follows the industry standards and will make you verify your identity. This can often be done using the details you provide, but if there are any issues, you may need to provide additional documents.

The full list of TAB payment option include:

Do TAB or corporate bookmakers have better esports markets?

Although the TAB does offer esports betting, their lack of variety and markets for several esports games is what makes them less desirable for an esports punter. Other corporate bookmakers like Picklebet, Dabble, Bet365 and Unibet offer a bigger range of esports betting markets, with several markets on offer for individual matches.

Picklebet

Picklebet is another Australian-owned bookmakers that offers a range of esports betting markets for Aussie punters. They have an easy-to-use website page and app for online bettors, making them one of the top esports bookmakers we have to offer in Australia.

Picklebet takes pride in offering comprehensive esports markets, covering all major tournaments and games throughout the year. They provide markets for a wide range of esports titles, including Dota 2, Counter-Strike, League of Legends, StarCraft II, World of Warcraft, Overwatch, FIFA, and NBA 2K.

For first-person shooters and team-based PvP titles, Picklebet offers markets on total kills, map handicaps, total maps played, and more. In sports titles like FIFA and NBA 2K, they feature markets for goal scoring, team totals, and handicaps. Picklebet esports review.

Dabble

Dabble is quickly becoming one of the top bookmakers in Australia as they offer plenty of betting markets for sports and horse racing. Even though they don’t have a website, their app is very easy to use and helps them focus on a younger demographic of bettors, much like esports does.

While Dabble is known for promoting their racing and sports markets, they also provide odds for a variety of popular esports titles. Although they don’t offer outright odds for the top esports tournaments, they do have markets for every game in major events and qualifiers. Dabble esports review.

MAD LIONS KOI vs G2 ESPORTS LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAIL

Best Odds: MAD +288 at BetOnline | G2 -416.67 at BetOnline When: August 31, 2024 | 17:00 CEST Watch Live: Lolesports, Twitch

League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) 2024 Season Finals lower bracket final, on Saturday, August 31, will see a rematch between G2 Esports and MAD Lions KOI, who will clash for a spot on the big stage. The Spanish squad upset G2 Esports in the first round, yet despite that success, they are not expected to do as well this weekend.

G2 Esports looked unconvincing throughout the regular season, but that was hardly a reason for concern, knowing G2 like to play around until things actually matter. Yet, even their run through LEC 2024 Season Finals has been anything but great.

They lost to MAD Lions KOI in the first round, stomped the shaky GIANTX 3-0, but needed to reverse-sweep Team BDS to secure a spot in the lower bracket finals. Winning after being 0-2 down is impressive; overall, G2 Esports seem to not be in the best shape.

MAD Lions KOI have recently lost a barnburner of a series against Fnatic. Thanks to their explosive early game and solid teamfighting, MAD Lions KOI looked more than competitive and had they not thrown two big leads, things couldve won the series 3-1.

G2 Esports are still getting a lot of respect, which makes sense, as this is the best Western LoL esports team when they are performing to the best of their ability. Yet we have not seen this side of G2 Esports in a long time, which begs the question of why they are -416.67 favourites here.

MAD Lions KOIs summer split record is terrible, yet they have started peaking at the right time, and if they can perform as well as they did against Fnatic, G2 Esports can find themselves in a tricky spot.

There is a world where G2 Esports turn on the jets and hoist the LEC trophy on September 1. But the way they are playing now, siding with MAD Lions KOI at these LoL betting odds to keep this fixture close makes more sense.

TEAM LIQUID vs FLYQUEST LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAIL

Best Odds: TL -416.67 at BetOnline | FLY +292 at BetOnline When: August 31, 2024 | 13:00 PDT Watch Live: Lolesports, Twitch

Team Liquid and FlyQuest will clash on Saturday, August 31, in the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) 2024 Championship upper bracket final. The two North American sides last met on the opening day of the LCS 2024 Summer regular season, when Team Liquid won, and according to LoL betting odds, the rematch should not end much differently.

FlyQuest enter the LCS 2024 Championship upper bracket finals off a surprise 3-1 victory against Cloud9. The underdogs managed to produce a decisive victory, and while some of their success was due to Cloud9 choking very advantageous positions, it is hard to criticise FlyQuest for what they showed on the day.

Team Liquid had no issues crushing 100 Thieves in the second round, which hardly comes as a shock. There is nothing of note to take from that series; Team Liquid performed significantly better, albeit against a weaker opponent.

Now priced at -416.67, Team Liquid are expected to have an easy time beating FlyQuest, which is not too surprising, as FlyQuest looked like the most vulnerable of the top-three teams during the regular season. But they managed to keep their head in the game against Cloud9, showing a more methodical approach with few slip-ups.

This does not change the fact that Team Liquid have been more efficient throughout the split, yet the gap between the two LCS juggernauts is not nearly as large as the top LoL betting sites suggest with their offer.

FlyQuest taking two maps on Saturday isnt too far-fetched, so at +133, theyre a solid pick on the map handicap market.

100 THIEVES vs DIGNITAS LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAIL

100 Thieves and Dignitas are set to clash on Friday, August 30, in a rematch from the first round of the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) 2024 Championship. 100T won the last affair, and according to LoL betting sites, the rematch should not end much differently.

Priced at +194, Dignitas are given just north of a 34% implied probability of beating 100 Thieves, which, considering how toothless they looked in the first round, makes some sense. However, Dignitas performed uncharacteristically poorly on the day, so things can only go up from here for them.

Performance stats-wise, Dignitas are pretty stable as they have not been smashed that often C except for in the last meeting with 100 Thieves. Yet we have to consider that 100 Thieves did not play well that day and even less so in their 0-3 loss against Team Liquid in the last round.

As proven during the regular season, there is not much to set LCS teams apart quality-wise C excluding the top three in Liquid, FlyQuest and Cloud9, who are a class above. So it is hard to justify siding with 100 Thieves at this number.

Lack of consistency, besides poor macro, are two big things all these bottom LCS teams have in common, so it is wise to consider backing any squad at plus money, especially when we talk about numbers that reach closer to +200.

As long as Dignitas don’t collapse again, we should be in for a competitive game and not nearly as one-sided as the offered betting odds suggest.

Bilibili Gaming will defend their League of Legends Pro League (LPL) title on Friday, August 30, when they clash with Weibo Gaming in the LPL 2024 Summer Playoffs grand final. The two sides already met in the upper bracket semifinals when BLG won, and based on the latest LoL betting odds, they are expected to come out ahead again.

Zhuo “knight” Ding and co. took care of business a week ago when they clashed with Weibo and once before during the regular season, so it is hard to question their ability to win on Friday. But even though the last fixture ended in a 3-0 sweep, the final result does not tell the whole story.

It was a competitive game that could have easily ended another way, but Bilibili Gaming narrowly kept winning most of the skirmishes. Weibo weren’t bad on the day, Bilibili Gaming were just slightly better.

Since then, BLG and Weibo have both beaten Top Esports, with 3-1 and 3-2, the latter being more interesting, as all five maps were complete stomps C one way or the other. It was an extremely solid performance from the outsiders, who schooled Top Esports despite mid laner Li “Xiaohu” Yuan-Hao playing exceptionally poorly.

That win also proved that Weibo Gaming’s ceiling is very high; it’s only a matter of consistency and whether they can produce another showing like it on Friday. Not that Weibo is known for being reliable, but they have shown two excellent performances heading into the grand finals.

This is still Bilibili Gaming’s game to lose, as they are stronger, but only slightly. At +474 with the top LoL betting sites, Weibo Gaming are criminally underrated and an excellent bet to win a map and as a smaller position on the +1.5 maps market.

HANWHA LIFE ESPORTS vs T1 LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAIL

Best Odds: HLE -204.08 at BetOnline | T1 +154 at BetOnline When: August 29, 2024 | 17:00 KST Watch Live: Lolesports, Twitch

Hanwha Life Esports got paired with T1 for the second round of League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2024 Summer Playoffs. Yet despite T1’s history in LCK playoffs, they enter this match priced as underdogs with the top League of Legends betting sites.

T1 closed as underdogs at -112.36 in their last meeting with Hanwha Life Esports during the regular season and -142.86 favourites in the LCK 2024 Spring Playoffs series. Now, the Esports World Cup 2024 champions hold much longer odds, at +154, giving them a 39.4% implied probability of winning the series.

That isn’t shocking, considering T1 haven’t had the best run over the last few weeks. Even in their victory over KT Rolster in the first round of the playoffs, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and co. showed very little.

T1 outperformed KT Rolster on the third and fourth maps, but they had some hiccups, making it evident that T1 need to sort some things out if they want a real run against Hanwha Life Esports this week. All this sounds highly concerning, but we know that T1 can switch on at any time, so it would not be too shocking to see them find traction on Thursday.

Hanwha Life Esports made a name for themselves as a squad who will run over any weaker team but consistently struggle against the elite few C due to their counter-punching playstyle. However, they put that theory under a question mark this split by producing competitive games against Gen.G, T1, and Dplus KIA.

Some of it had to do with the fact that Dplus KIA and T1 have not been in the best shape; however, it is not like much has changed. Nevertheless, it still does not sound right seeing Hanwha Life Esports priced as -204.08 favourites for this match.

Betting against T1 is hoping they will not wake up which can happen, like it did in the past playoffs. So, while Hanwha Life Esports deserve respect for what they have shown this split, T1 at the offered LoL betting odds are very hard to pass on.

A smaller position on T1 to win with at least two maps to spare is also worth a look.

PGL has announced an ambitious schedule of 11 tier-one Counter-Strike 2 events across the globe over the next two years, marking their re-entry into the competitive scene.

These events will take place in various locations, including annual tournaments in Astana, Kazakhstan, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, with additional events planned in Bucharest, Belgrade, S?o Paulo, and Barcelona.

The organiser has hinted at more events to come, stating that “other surprises” may be in store beyond the initial eleven.

After several years of focusing on Valve Majors and collaborating with Perfect World, PGL is now expanding its tournament offerings.

The company has pledged to host six of these events independently, while four will be in partnership with FiReSPORTS, and one event will continue their collaboration with Perfect World for the CS Asia Championships.

This move aligns with Valve’s shift towards a more open competitive landscape, eliminating direct team-to-tournament organiser partnerships from 2025 onwards.

Each event will feature 16 teams, invited directly based on the global Valve Regional Standings (VRS).

With no open qualifiers due to the “very busy event schedule,” if a team declines their invite or cannot secure visas, the invitation will pass to the next team in the VRS.

The only exception to the global invite system will be for the three South American events, where the top two teams from the home region will receive automatic invites alongside 14 intercontinental teams.

These events will follow a best-of-three Swiss system group stage, leading to an eight-team single elimination playoff bracket with a best-of-five grand final.

Each tournament will offer a Major-level prize pool of US$1.25 million and a US$450,000 budget for hospitality, covering tickets, accommodation for eight people, meals, and six-person practice rooms for each invited team.

The venues for eight of these events have already been announced, including Buenos Aires’ Teatro Gran Rex in 2025 and Estadio Mary Tern de Weiss in 2026, Astana’s Barys Arena, and Belgrade’s 20,000-capacity arena.

The Bucharest event will be hosted in PGLs studios without a live audience.

PGL emphasised that this shift represents a pivotal moment in esports, aiming to democratise event organisation and foster a more vibrant and diverse competitive scene.

As CS2 transitions to a more open format in 2025, other tournament organisers, such as StarLadder, have also announced their return to Counter-Strike, signalling the end of ESL and BLAST’s long-standing dominance.

2025 tournament schedule

  • February 13-23: PGL on FiRe Buenos Aires
  • April 3-13: PGL Bucharest
  • May 8-18: PGL Astana
  • October 1-13: Perfect World CS Asia Championship

FlyQuest pulled off a stunning victory against Cloud9 in round two of the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) Summer Playoffs, securing their place at the 2024 LoL World Championship alongside Team Liquid.

This marks FlyQuest’s first World Championship appearance in four years, and they did it in style, taking down one of the LCSs most storied teams.

FlyQuests journey to this victory wasnt straightforward.

After finishing third in the LCS Summer regular season with a 5-2 record, FlyQuest fell to Cloud9 0-2 on the final day.

However, their thirst for revenge was evident in the playoffs.

Despite losing the first game of the series, FlyQuest looked dominant throughout, nearly clinching the win in map one before Cloud9 managed a narrow comeback.

From that point on, it was all FlyQuest.

In the following maps, FlyQuest took control, winning maps two and three in long but convincing fashion.

The final map, however, was a masterclass in dominance.

FlyQuest dismantled Cloud9 in just 26 minutes with a perfect 14-0 kill score, leaving Cloud9 without a single kill.

A significant contributor to FlyQuests victory was mid laner Song “Quad” Su-hyeong, who celebrated his 22nd birthday by putting on an exceptional performance.

Quad achieved a 25-5 kill/death score over the series, with a standout nine-kill performance in Game 2 on Smolder.

His 81% kill participation underscored his critical role in FlyQuest’s success.

But it wasnt just Quad who shone.

Top laner Gabri?l “Bwipo” Rau rebounded from a difficult start to hold his own in a Renekton vs. KSante battle against C9s Park “Thanatos” Seung-gyu.

Meanwhile, jungler Kacper “Inspired” S?oma secured a crucial baron steal on map three, shifting the momentum decisively in FlyQuests favour.

After the match, Inspired highlighted the teams growth in coordination, stating, The team is finally doing only coordinated plays; in this game and the whole series, we never took a fight when we didnt need to.

This win sends FlyQuest to the upper bracket final against Team Liquid on Saturday, August 31.

Although their primary goal of reaching LoL Worlds is secured, FlyQuest is far from complacent.

Inspired acknowledged the challenge ahead, noting that Team Liquid is equally adept at controlled gameplay, making their upcoming match anything but easy.

Cloud9, on the other hand, now faces a critical test.

After falling to FlyQuest, theyll await the winner of Dignitas vs. 100 Thieves for a do-or-die match on Sunday, September 1, to claim the final LCS spot at Worlds.

Despite their recent struggles, Cloud9 remains a formidable opponent, having attended ten of the past eleven World Championships.

However, theyll need to regroup quickly and address the mistakes that plagued them in this series to keep their streak alive.

FlyQuest’s victory not only avenges their regular season loss to Cloud9 but also cements their resurgence in the LCS.

As they prepare to face Team Liquid, fans can expect a thrilling encounter between two of the top teams in North America.
