The International 2018 is right around the corner, with 24 million dollars on the line and plenty of Dota 2 betting opportunities. The tournament will offer almost 100 matches in total, being a bettor’s dream come true.

Location and dates

Unlike its previous editions, The International 2018 takes place in Vancouver, Canada at a venue with more than 18,000 seats, known as Rogers Arena. The Group Stage will take place between August 15th – 18th while the Main Event is scheduled to take place between August 20th – 25th.

Participants

The International 2018 brings together 18 teams from 6 different regions:
? Europe: Team Liquid, Team Secret, OG.
? CIS: Virtus.pro, Winstrike Team.
? North America: Evil Geniuses, VGJ.Storm, OpTic Gaming.
? South America: paiN Gaming.
? Southeast Asia: Mineski, TNC Predator, Fnatic.
? China: PSG.LGD, Vici Gaming, Newbee, VGJ.Thunder, Team Serenity, Invictus Gaming.

Event format

The International 2018 takes place in two stages: the Group Stage and the Main Event or Playoffs.

As usual, for the Group Stage the 18 teams will be divided into 2 groups of 9. Each of these groups will be played in a Round Robin format: every team plays a Bo2 match against every other team from its group. This is an essential part that makes the Dota 2 betting opportunities of this event truly amazing. That’s because there will be plenty of matches that are sure to end with a 2 – 0 result or a 1 – 1 result, and the odds are very high even when the outcome is almost predetermined, simply because there are 3 outcome possibilities instead of 2.

At the end of the Group Stage, the last placed teams from both groups are eliminated, so the Main Event will feature 16 of the original 18 teams and will be played in a double-elimination bracket format. The top 4 teams from each group start in the Upper Bracket. The other 4 start in the Lower Bracket. The first round of Lower Bracket matches consists of Bo1 series. All other matches are Bo3, with the exception of the Grand Final (Bo5).

Prize pool distribution

The massive $24 million prize pool of The International 2018 will be distributed among the 18 participants in the following way:
? 1st place: 44% – $10.7 million.
? 2nd place: 16% – $3.9 million.
? 3rd place: 10.5% – $2.5 million.
? 4th place: 7% – $1.7 million.
? 5th – 6th place: 4.5% – $1.09 million.
? 7th – 8th place: 2.5% – $600,000.
? 9th – 12th place: 1.5% – $362,000.
? 13th – 16th place: 0.5% – $121,000.
? 17th – 18th place: 0.25% – $60,000.

Main contenders

Virtus.pro

With more than 12,000 DPC points earned during the first season of the Dota Pro Circuit, Virtus.pro ended in 1st place and is arguably the side with the greatest chance of winning The International 2018. Virtus.Pro won 4 Majors this season and since its latest roster change (RodjER from Na’Vi came in and replaced Lil), it has been at the top of its game, looking unstoppable against everyone except Team Liquid and PSG.LGD, who are their equals.

Going into The International 2018, expect VP to be very dominant in its group and get at least a top 4 finish in the Main Event.

PSG.LGD
PSG.LGD ended the regular season in 3rd place with over 7000 DPC points, but most analysts will tell you that the Chinese squad is at least the 2nd best team at the moment and maybe even the best.
PSG.LGD won 2 Majors this season (EPICENTER XL and MDL Changsha Major) and placed 2nd in 3 other Dota Pro Circut events: PGL Open Bucharest, Dota 2 Asia Championships 2018 and StarLadder i-League Invitational Season 4.
Like Virtus.pro, PSG.LGD is expected to completely dominate the opposition during the Group Stage and then make it all the way to the Grand Final.

Team Liquid
Team Liquid is the defending champion, having won the Aegis at the previous edition of The International. In the 2017-2018 competitive season, Team Liquid performed well, winning 3 Minors and the circuit’s only Supermajor. The team also placed 2nd in 2 other Majors and a Minor. In particular, Liquid’s 1st place result at China Dota2 Supermajor, achieved after a victory against Virtus.pro, clearly proved that the defending champion is at the top if its game.
It remains to be seen how KuroKy and his teammates will fare against the likes of PSG.LGD, Virtus.pro, Evil Geniuses and Team Secret at The International 2018, but in principle we should see this team starting the Main Event in the Upper Bracket and then getting a top 6 result.

Evil Geniuses
In spite of struggling during the regular season, the recent roster changes turned EG into a powerhouse again. The North American giant dominated its regional rivals at DOTA Summit 9 and in the regional qualifiers for TI 8. The addition of Fly and s4 to the roster means that Evil Geniuses now plays with 3 former OG members and 2 other players who are arguably among the world’s best at their roles. Both Suma1l and Arteezy are formidable players and will likely thrive under Fly’s command.
Going into The International 2018, Evil Geniuses should definitely finish the Group Stage 1st – 4th in its group and secure a ticket for the Upper Bracket of the Main Event. After that it’s hard to tell what will happen, but the team’s recent results clearly showed that it is fully capable of going head to head with most of the world’s best.

Team Secret
Team Secret finished the regular season in 4th place, having gathered over 5000 points in Dota Pro Circuit events. Puppey and his squad won 3 tournaments in the 2017-2018 competitive season: 2 Minors (Captains Draft 4.0 and DreamLeague Season 9) and 1 Major (DreamLeague Season 8). The team also placed 2nd in another Major at ESL One Hamburg 2017.
All these results put Secret among the world’s best teams and make them a top contender for winning The International 2018. Of course, their chances are much lower than VP’s, PSG.LGD’s or Liquid’s, but keep in mind that Puppey has already been in the TI Grand Final 3 times.

ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2018 is a high-level CS:GO LAN event that brings together the top 8 teams in the world. With a massive prize pool of 1 million dollars and the strongest possible rosters in attendance, ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2018 is guaranteed to be a great show for every fan of the game.

ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2018 is scheduled to take place in Atlanta, USA between July 21st – 29th. During this time, the event will offer plenty of CS:GO betting opportunities.

Participants and tournament format

ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2018 features 8 teams which will be divided into two groups.

Group A: Astralis, Team Liquid, MIBR, Cloud9.
Group B: Natus Vincere, FaZe Clan, mousesports, Fnatic.

Both of these groups will be played in a double-elimination bracket format (GSL). All matches will be Bo3. The top 2 teams from each group advance to the Playoffs, which consist of 2 Semifinals (Bo3) and a Grand Final (Bo5).

Team analysis

FaZe Clan

In spite of playing with various stand-ins for the past 4 months, FaZe Clan managed to keep up its level of Counter-Strike and get a top 4 finish at almost every single event. FaZe Clan’s results this year have been impressive, as the team achieved multiple top 2 and top 4 finishes: 2nd place at ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018, 2nd place at Intel Extreme Masters XII World Championship, 1st place at Intel Extreme Masters XIII Sydney, 1st place at ESL One: Belo Horizonte 2018 and 5 other 3rd – 4th place results.

ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2018 is an important moment for FaZe Clan because it marks their reunion with olofmeister, who’s just returned after a 4-month absence. Presumably, he’s still a beast and perfectly able to play at the highest level of Counter-Strike, but little is known about the personal problems that kept him away for so long. Still, until the contrary is proven, my assumption is that FaZe Clan can certainly perform with olof as well or even better than it did with Xizt and cromen. So a top 4 result should be a perfectly realistic target for the team.

Cloud9

After winning ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018 back in January, Cloud9 went on a steady decline, eventually losing Stewie2K a few months ago and more recently, tarik. Both players were acquired by MIBR (former SK Gaming roster), who were having problems of their own and needed to change something. At the moment, Cloud9 is playing with a former Fnatic player (Golden) and a former mousesports player (STYKO), alongside its core trio: Skadoodle, autimatic and RUSH. This roster has decent potential but is probably a long way away from where it should be in terms of cohesion and team strats.

Overall, Cloud9 has had a decent year so far, getting the following results: 1st place at ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018, 2nd place at WESG 2017 North American Finals, 2nd place at cs_summit 2, 9th – 11th place at StarLadder & i-League StarSeries Season 4, 5th – 6th place at Intel Extreme Masters XII World Championship, 5th – 8th place at World Electronic Sports Games 2017, 5th – 8th place at DreamHack Masters Marseille 2018, 7th – 8th place at Intel Extreme Masters XIII Sydney, 9th – 12th place at ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals, 7th – 8th place at Esports Championship Series Season 5 Finals and 9th – 12th place finish at ESL One: Cologne 2018.

Cloud9’s recent form has been poor. In its last 30 maps, C9 got around 10 victories and 20 defeats. Combine that with its recent roster changes and the fact that ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2018 is filled to the brim with champions and superstar teams, and you’ll have a hard time believing in Cloud9’s chances at this event.

Astralis

In spite of losing against Na’Vi in the Semifinals of ESL One: Cologne 2018, Astralis is arguably still the best team in the world and its results in the past 6 months have been exceptional: 3rd – 4th place at Intel Extreme Masters XII World Championship, 1st place at DreamHack Masters Marseille 2018, 2nd place at Intel Extreme Masters XIII Sydney, 1st place at Esports Championship Series Season 5 Finals, 1st place at ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals and 3rd – 4th place at ESL One: Cologne 2018.

Few teams in the history of CS:GO managed to have such an impressive streak of results over a 6 months period. The Danish organization is no doubt at the peak of its powers right now, having won 25 out of its last 27 maps, and will definitely get at least a 3rd – 4th place finish at ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2018. Unless it encounters and gets defeated again by Na’Vi, it should actually make it all the way to the Grand Final.

Fnatic

Fnatic recently went through two roster changes, saying farewell to Lekr0 and Golden and bringing in Xizt and draken. The swedes are a pretty strong team at the moment, but definitely not strong enough to stand much of a chance against the world’s CS:GO giants.

Fnatic’s run in 2018 has been very good. The team got numerous top 6 results in important competitions, including two championships wins: one at Intel Extreme Masters XII World Championship and one at World Electronic Sports Games 2017.

Going into ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2018, Fnatic will likely be eliminated in the groups and exit the competition in 5th – 6th place.

mousesports

Along with Cloud9, Fnatic and MIBR, mousesports is yet another team that’s sitting at a crossroads. Mousesports recently changed one of its core players (STYKO) and then made a very questionable decision by bringing in Snax from Virtus.pro. The effects of this change were immediate. Mousesports went from 2nd place at ESL One: Belo Horizonte 2018 to 9th – 12th place at ESL One: Cologne 2018. Without a doubt, this is one of the teams you should be betting against at ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2018.

Team Liquid

This is a team with a lot of potential and some very good results in recent months, but its main problem is its lack of consistency. It can lose easy matches and it can also win difficult ones. And the difference between a good day and a bad day is often caused by unknown factors.

After the acquisition of NAF and TACO earlier this year, Team Liquid went on to get some pretty spectacular results. But the team has had good performances throughout the season. It finished 1st at cs_summit 2, 3rd at StarLadder & i-League StarSeries Season 4, 3rd – 4th at Intel Extreme Masters XII World Championship, 2nd at ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals, 2nd at Esports Championship Series Season 5 Finals and 3rd -4th at ESL One: Belo Horizonte 2018.

In recent weeks, Team Liquid showed signs of weakness, finishing 13th – 16th at ESL One: Cologne 2018. The team most likely ironed out its mistakes since that event, but it will still have a rough time advancing to the Playoffs of ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2018.

MIBR

MIBR (former SK Gaming) is at a crossroads again. The team recently parted ways with boltz and brought in tarik from Cloud9. Along with Stewie2K, his former Cloud9 teammate, the two could make a powerful duo once more. But nothing is certain at this point. In fact, given the high caliber of every participant at ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2018, MIBR has at best a 25-30% chance of making it out of the groups.

Fallen, coldzera and fer, the team’s core trio, are all formidable players. But at this level of Counter-Strike the overall team cohesion is usually even more important than individual skill. Of course, there are exceptions to this rule, such as s1mple hard carrying Na’Vi match after match. But in the vast majority of cases, superior teamplay wins over raw individual skill that isn’t backed up by flawless team strats and cohesion.

MIBR had barely started to be fluent with Stewie2K as their 5th when they added tarik, another member that needs to be taught and integrated into its system of play. But what if the new cog won’t fit? It really doesn’t matter how good tarik is as a player. If communication is suffers due to the language barrier or if the player simply doesn’t suit MIBR’s way of approaching the game, it could all end up in disaster.

Natus Vincere

And finally, we have the mighty Na’Vi, a team that won no less than 3 tournaments in the last 7 weeks: StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 5, CS:GO Asia Championships 2018 and ESL One: Cologne 2018. Arguably, the entire roster has gone through a massive upgrade and its matches are no longer a one man show. S1mple is still the best CS:GO player to have ever played the game, performing out of his mind in every single match. But the rest of the team is with him now, doing much of the heavy lifting.

Going into ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2018, I expect at least a top 4 finish for Na’Vi. It’s only real rivals are Astralis and FaZe Clan. Everyone else should be nothing more than target practice for s1mple and his squad.

Betting predictions

Natus Vincere vs. Fnatic

Unless Na’Vi messes up, this match should be in the bag for them. Betway puts the odds at 1.40 – 2.75 in their favor, and I think these odds are congruent with the level of skill displayed by these two teams in recent months.

Betting prediction: Natus Vincere to win at BetOnline.

FaZe Clan vs. mousesports

This is a total mismatch between a top 3 team and a team that’s a mere shadow of its former self. FaZe Clan should absolutely mop the floor with mousesports in this match, unless olofmeister is less than half the player he used to be. Under normal circumstances, this will be an easy win for FaZe.

Betway puts the odds at 1.45 – 2.55 in FaZe Clan’s favor, anticipating a fairly easy victory for this team.
Betting prediction: FaZe Clan to win at BetOnline.

Betting predictions for ESL One Cologne 2018 Day 1

mousesports vs. Gambit Esports

With their recently changed roster, mousesports are a slightly less stable team now compared to the version that had STYKO in it, and we’ve yet to see whether or not Snax was the right choice as his replacement. I personally think it wasn’t, and I’m expecting mousesports to disappoint at ESL One: Cologne 2018. But definitely not against the likes of Gambit Esports.

Betway puts the odds for this match at 1.40 – 2.75 in favor of mousesports, and by far the most likely outcome is a victory in their favor.

Betting prediction: mousesports to win, paying -250 at BetOnline.

G2 Esports vs. Natus Vincere

G2 Esports has a new lineup, but it faces a very strong opponent in this match. Na’Vi has been performing phenomenally in the last few months, playing in multiple Grand Finals and winning two events: CS:GO Asia Championships 2018 and StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 5. In light of these achievements, Na’Vi is without a doubt the clear favorite here.

Betway puts the odds at 2.95 – 1.35 in favor of Natus Vincere and at these odds, this match constitutes a great betting opportunity.

Betting prediction: Natus Vincere to win, paying -285.71 at BetOnline.

FaZe Clan vs. B.O.O.T-d[S]

FaZe Clan is the second best team in the world in spite of playing with an ever changing 5th and dealing with roster issues. Its recent addition, cromen, seems to have integrated quite well in this all-star lineup and the overall performances have been great for the past 2 months: 4 top 4 placements at the latest 4 tournaments, including 2 titles: one at Intel Extreme Masters XIII Sydney and one at ESL One: Belo Horizonte 2018.

On the other side, B.O.O.T-d[S] has no significant achievements to speak of and is lightyears behind from FaZe in every respect. Which is why I fully expect the Europeans to crush them in this match.

Betway puts the odds at 1.10 – 5.75 in favor of FaZe Clan and this is practically free money to be made.

Betting prediction: FaZe Clan to win, paying -1000 at BetOnline.

Astralis vs. ENCE eSports

This is a total mismatch between the currently strongest team in the world and a complete outsider to the world of tier 1 Counter-Strike. This match should be regarded as an opportunity to make some easy money.

Betway puts the odds at 1.15 – 4.75 in favor of Astralis, and the only reason why these odds are so high on their side is the Bo1 format of the match.

Betting prediction: Astralis to win, paying -666.67 at BetOnline.

Fnatic vs. North

Fnatic is now 60% Fnatic and 40% NiP, as the core of the old Fnatic remained (JW, flusha and KRIMS) and two NiP players (Xizt and draken) have been brought in to replace Lekr0 and Golden. It’s not yet clear how well these players will mesh together, but given the fact that these are basically two teams fused into one, much of the synergy should be inherited.

On the other hand, North is a team with a lot of talented players but not that many results to speak of. The tournament they won recently, DreamHack Open Tours 2018, was not very prestigious and had no big teams in it. So it’s not particularly relevant in determining North’s skill level.

Overall, I think that Fnatic has an edge in this match and is much more likely to win it.

Betway puts the odds at 1.65 – 2.10 in favor of Fnatic, anticipating a very close match. It might be, but there’s nothing about North that suggests they’re a truly strong team. And I definitely don’t think they’re on Fnatic’s level.

Betting prediction: Fnatic to win, paying -153.85 at BetOnline.

BIG vs. Team Liquid

This is another huge mismatch, between a tier 2 team and one of the top contenders at any CS:GO event. Since the addition of NAF and TACO, Team Liquid has turned into a powerhouse and it’s only a matter of time until this roster achieves a level of fluency that allows it to get a top 4 finish in every single tournament.

Betway puts the odds for this match at 3.10 – 1.32 in favor of Team Liquid, clearly regarding Liquid as the favorite. And I fully agree with this assessment, except I see this team as being even stronger than these odds reflect.

Betting prediction: Team Liquid to win, paying -312.5 at BetOnline.

Ninjas in Pyjamas vs. Cloud9

Both of these teams are currently struggling to make it to the Playoffs of big events and when they manage to achieve this, they’re usually eliminated in their first match of this stage. However, in light of its recent performances, NiP is slightly favored to win this dispute. But the skill difference between them and their opponents is minimal.

Betway puts the odds at 1.60 – 2.20, anticipating a close match but still favoring NiP to emerge victorious.

Betting prediction: Ninjas in Pyjamas to win, paying -166.67 at BetOnline.

Renegades vs. MIBR

Renegades is a strong team from Australia, but it’s facing MIBR in this match, which is actually the former roster of SK Gaming. Fallen and his teammates simply moved from one organization to another, most likely as a result of better contracts and greater promises for the future. MIBR (Made in Brazil) is an old CS:GO brand which has just been revitalized. And who better to represent it than this incredible roster?

Betway puts the odds for this match at 3.20 – 1.30 in favor of MIBR, and its assessment is absolutely correct.

Betting prediction: MIBR to win, paying -333.33 at BetOnline.

The first regular season of the Overwatch League is almost at the end. Just 6 more matches are left to be played (3 today and 3 tomorrow, in the Stage 4 Title Matches) and then we’ll have one month of silence before the inaugural season’s Playoffs.

This Saturday we will find out if Shanghai Dragons can actually win their first match in the Overwatch League. We’ll also find out the 4th team qualified for the Stage 4 Title Matches. As usual, in this article I’ll analyze the existing Overwatch betting opportunities.

Betting predictions for June 16

Philadelphia Fusion (5 V – 4 D) vs. London Spitfire (4 V – 5 D)

Philadelphia Fusion has had another mediocre stage, mimicking its 5 V – 5 D performance from Stage 3. So far, in addition to the expected victories against Shanghai Dragons and Florida Mayhem, the team has defeated average opponents such as Boston Uprising, San Francisco Shock and Seoul Dynasty. Every strong team has crushed them without too many problems. Dallas Fuel, New York Excelsior, Los Angeles Gladiators and Houston Outlaws bested Fusion with ease, proving that they’re still quite far away from the top 4 in terms of strength.

London Spitfire is an almost identical case. In Stage 3, the team finished with a record of 5 V – 5 D. And it’s going towards an identical result in this stage too. All Spitfire needs to do is win this match, which it will very likely win all things considered. Spitfire has had slightly closer matches against the strong teams than Philadelphia Fusion. It still lost those matches, but the Stage 1 champion spirit is clearly still there.

In their latest 3 matches, London Spitfire lost against Los Angeles Valiant (1 – 2) and Los Angeles Gladiators (2 – 3), but managed to beat Florida Mayhem (4 – 0). The close defeats against the two strongest teams in Stage 4 clearly suggest that Spitfire is in pretty good shape right now.

The head to head record between these two teams is 2 – 2. The first two matches were won decisively by London Spitfire (4 – 0), while the next 2 were won by Philadelphia Fusion (3 – 2). Based on Spitfire’s recent performance against some very strong opponents, I believe they actually have a very high chance of winning this match.

Betway puts the odds at 2.37 – 1.45 in favor of London Spitfire, clearly favoring Spitfire to win this dispute.

Betting prediction: London Spitfire to win, paying -222.22 at BetOnline.

Shanghai Dragons (0 V – 9 D) vs. San Francisco Shock (4 V – 5 D)

As much as everyone wants Shanghai Dragons to win a match before the end of the league and avoid a historic 0 V – 40 D record, that’s probably not going to happen. It would be the stuff of legend and future esports documentaries if it did, but the odds of it happening are below 5%.

For a while it looked as if San Francisco Shock had the capacity to perform much better in Stage 4 than it did in Stage 3. Especially after bringing in Boston Uprising’s head coach. But that didn’t happen and Shock will almost certainly finish this stage with a 5 V – 5 D record, a slightly worse performance than that of Stage 3 (6 V – 4 D).

Recent form, overall form and head to head statistics all favor San Francisco Shock to win this match, most likely with a score of 3 – 1.

Betway puts the odds at 7.50 – 1.03 in favor of San Francisco Shock and at these odds, you should consider placing a small bet on the underdog and hope for a historic result.

Betting prediction: San Francisco Shock to win map 1, paying -500 at BetOnline.

Boston Uprising (3 V – 6 D) vs. Florida Mayhem (1 V – 8 D)

Looks like Boston Uprsing has woken up. A little bit too late I’m afraid but still, the team went from 0 V – 6 D to 3 V – 6 D in its last 3 matches. And two of the opponents it faced are actually legit teams: Seoul Dynasty and New York Excelsior. I personally can’t understand how New York Excelsior managed to lose against Uprising in its current condition, but it still happened somehow. In any case, the 10 V – 0 D record breakers from Stage 3 seem to be back to their usual game.

Apart from Shanghai Dragons, Florida Mayhem is the next worst team in OWL. Everyone beats this team except Dragons, so this match should be regarded as a perfect opportunity to make some easy money.

Betway puts the odds at 1.03 – 7.50 in favor of Boston Uprising, regarding the whole thing as a free money operation.

Betting prediction: Boston Uprising to win map 1, paying -500 at BetOnline.

The 5th and final week of Stage 4 of the Overwatch League is already underway and the 3 matches taking place on its second day provide some excellent Overwatch betting opportunities. Betting predictions for June 14

Houston Outlaws (5 V – 3 D) vs. Philadelphia Fusion (5 V – 3 D)

Houston Outlaws has had a fairly good run so far in Stage 4, defeating teams like London Spitfire and Dallas Fuel in the process. Its defeats came against the current top 3 teams in the league (Los Angeles Valiant, Los Angeles Gladiators and New York Excelsior), so no surprises there. Overall, Outlaws looked capable of holding its own against most adversaries, but still got completely crushed by the really strong teams.

Philadelphia Fusion had a fairly poor run in Stage 3, finishing 8th with a record of 5 W – 5 L. In Stage 4, the team has had a slightly better run so far, losing against Los Angeles Gladiators, Dallas Fuel and New York Excelsior and winning against the likes of San Francisco Shock and Seoul Dynasty.

In terms of overall performance throughout the Overwatch League and recent form, these two teams are of similar strength. However, in their previous 3 direct encounters, Philadelphia Fusion won every time (score 3 – 2).

Betway puts the odds at 2.55 – 1.45 in favor of Philadelphia Fusion, clearly expecting a victory in their favor but still giving Houston Outlaws a lot of respect. I believe this assessment is almost precisely correct, but the odds should have been higher on Fusion’s part. That’s because the chance of a Houston Outlaws victory is higher than what these odds reflect.

Betting prediction: Philadelphia Fusion to win, paying -227.27 at BetOnline.

Florida Mayhem (1 V – 7 D) vs. London Spitfire (3 V – 5 D)

Apart from Dragons, Florida Mayhem is without a doubt the second weakest team in OWL. Its abysmal 7 V – 31 D record, which is actually a 3 V – 31 D record (because 4 of those victories were against Shanghai Dragons) clearly suggests that it has absolutely no chance against the stronger teams. And London Spitfire is definitely one of them, in spite of its poor recent form.

London Spitfire is the Stage 1 champion, but the team has lost a lot of its prowess since then. In Stage 3, Spitfire finished in 6th place with a record of 5 W – 5 L. Stage 4 hasn’t been any easier for this team, which is now standing at number 8 with 3 victories and 5 defeats. The only important team defeated by London Spitfire in Stage 4 was San Francisco Shock. At the same time, Spitfire’s defeats came against key opponents such as New York Excelsior, Houston Outlaws, Dallas Fuel, Los Angeles Valiant and Los Angeles Gladiators.

Every type of indicator points towards an easy London Spitfire victory in this match.

Betway puts the odds at 7.00 – 1.07 in favor of London Spitfire, and this is practically free money to be made.

Betting prediction: London Spitfire to win, paying -1428.57 at BetOnline.

New York Excelsior (6 V – 2 D) vs. Boston Uprising (2 V – 6 D)

New York Excelsior is easily the best team in OWL in terms of overall performance, sitting on a record of 33 V – 5 D. Two of those 5 losses took place in Stage 4, against Los Angeles Valiant (2 – 3) and Los Angeles Gladiators (2 – 3), but Excelsior is still one tier above almost every other team in the league right now. So a defeat against Boston Uprising in this match is very unlikely.

Boston Uprising has suffered the most shocking drop imaginable in the last 5 weeks, going from a 10 V – 0 D record in Stage 3 to a current 2 V – 6 D record in Stage 4. I’m not sure how that was even possible for a team that seemed unstoppable for the entire duration of Stage 3, but apparently the loss of its head coach has played a significant role in this.

Recent form, overall form and head to head statistics all favor New York Excelsior to win this match.

Betway puts the odds at 1.10 – 5.75 in favor of Excelsior, giving Uprising a lot of undue respect.

Betting prediction: New York Excelsior to win, paying -1000 at BetOnline.

]]>
ESL One Belo Horizonte 2018 is the first ESL One tournament held in Brazil. The event brings together 8 CS:GO teams, has a prize pool of $200,000 and is scheduled to take place in Belo Horizonte between June 13th and June 17th.

Participants and event format

ESL One Belo Horizonte 2018 features 8 teams divided into 2 groups.

Group A:
? FaZe Clan
? SK Gaming
? Space Soldiers
? Ghost Gaming

Group B:
? mousesports
? Team Liquid
? BIG
? Nao Tem Como

Both groups will be played in a GSL format (double-elimination bracket). All matches will be Bo3. The top 2 teams from each group advance to the Playoffs, which will be played in a single-elimination bracket format. Semifinals will be Bo3. Finals will be Bo5.

Betting predictions

FaZe Clan vs. Ghost Gaming

After around 2 months of weaker results, FaZe Clan struck back at IEM Sydney, defeating Astralis in the Grand Final (3 – 0) and claiming the title. It was a shocking result for everyone and showed that you should never discard this team in the fierce battle for trophies, no matter how overpowered its opponent may seem.

At its next important event, ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals, FaZe Clan finished 3rd-4th after losing to Astralis in the Semifinals. Keep in mind however that the team is currently playing with a stand-in. At IEM Sydney it played with Xizt as its 5th, while at ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals it played with cromen. Olofmeister is still unavailable due to personal problems.

For me, FaZe Clan is the second strongest team at ESL One Belo Horizonte 2018 and for sure the strongest team in Group A. As a result, they should easily advance to the Playoffs.

Ghost Gaming is a North American team with no international experience and a relatively unknown roster. Except for steel and koosta, everyone is a no-name at this point. It remains to be seen whether or not Ghost Gaming can win any matches at this event, but the stats say the probably won’t.

Arcane.bet puts the odds for this match at 1.07 – 7.00 in favor of FaZe Clan, regarding this match as a done deal for the European team. To improve your gains, you should definitely bet on the individual maps. That would give you an easy 21% profit for each of these bets.

Betting prediction: FaZe Clan to win map 1, paying -500 at BetOnline.

SK Gaming vs. Space Soldiers

SK Gaming dominated CS:GO for two years and then collapsed for a number of reasons. Ultimately, TACO left the team and joined Team Liquid, being replaced by Stewie2K from Cloud9. For a few tournaments after Stewie’s transfer, SK Gaming looked like a shadow of its former self, suffering bad defeats against some really weak teams.

Lately, SK Gaming started to show signs of strength again, going head to head with a very strong Na’Vi side in the Quarterfinals of StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 5. SK lost that match after having the lead (1 – 2), but the performance itself was excellent. Then, in the lesser known Moche XL Esports tournament, SK Gaming won the title by defeating HellRaisers in the Grand Final (2 – 0).

At this point, SK Gaming is a fairly strong team and should get a 3rd-4th place finish at ESL One Belo Horizonte 2018. Also, keep in mind that SK will be playing in front of its home crowd at this event and that may have a positive effect on its performance.

Space Soldiers used to be a very strong team until several months ago. Then it dropped enormously in strength for around 3 months but has resurfaced with good results in June. In 2018, the team won DreamHack Open Austin 2018 and placed 2nd at World Electronic Sports Games 2017 and Play2Live Cryptomasters. Space Soldiers is a fairly strong CS:GO team, but is unlikely to cause any upsets against the likes of SK Gaming, FaZe Clan and the others.

Arcane.bet puts the odds for this match at 1.27 – 3.55 in favor of SK Gaming, regarding them as the clear favorites to take the win here.

Betting prediction: SK Gaming to win , paying -370.37 at BetOnline.

Team Liquid vs. BIG

After the acquisition of NAF and TACO, Team Liquid finally got a world class roster that can compete with any opponent. However, the results weren’t great in the first few months, simply because the team needed more time to fully integrate its newest members and achieve perfect fluency in all of its tactics. The potential to get top placements was definitely there, but Team Liquid wasn’t ready to score yet.

Then it happened. Liquid played in the Grand Finals of two premier events in the last month (ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals and Esports Championship Series Season 5 Finals). Both of them ended with losses against Astralis, a team that seems to be unstoppable at this point, but the results themselves were still exceptional and clearly showed that Team Liquid should be regarded as a top contender at any event.

Going into ESL One Belo Horizonte 2018, Liquid is the team most likely to win and should get at least a 2nd place finish.

BIG is a complete outsider to the world of big Counter-Strike at this point and has little to no chances of qualifying for the Playoffs. The team’s only notable result in 2018 was a 1st place finish in a local tournament, ESEA Season 27: Global Challenge, where it defeated Team Spirit in the Grand Final.

Arcane.bet puts the odds for this match at 1.22 – 3.96 in favor of Team Liquid. Again, you should be betting on the individual rounds. That will give you much higher profits while the risks are absolutely minimal (below 5%).

Betting prediction: Team Liquid to win map 1, paying -454.55 at BetOnline.

mousesports vs. Nao Tem Como

Mousesports is a top 6 team in CS:GO right now and has had an exceptional season so far. The team won StarLadder & i-League StarSeries Season 4, V4 Future Sports Festival Budapest 2018, as well as the regional stage of ESL Pro League Season 7. At the last 3 tournaments it participated in (IEM XIII Sydney, ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals and StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 5), mousesports placed 3rd – 4th, 5th – 6th and 3rd – 4th respectively. Overall, mousesports is playing great CS right now and should definitely qualify for the Playoffs of ESL One Belo Horizonte 2018.

Nao Tem Como is a Brazilian team made up of several former SK Gaming players as well as a few local stars. The team has great potential and will be playing in front of its home crowd, but I really doubt its ability to upset mousesports in this match.

Arcane.bet puts the odds at 1.42 – 2.74, giving the Brazilians a lot of respect. However, all things considered, this should be an easy victory for mousesports.

Betting prediction: mousesports to win , paying -238.1 at BetOnline.

Betting predictions for June 13

Los Angeles Gladiators (7 V – 1 D) vs. Shanghai Dragons (0 V – 8 D)

Los Angeles Gladiators has had the best stage so far in the Overwatch League, losing just 1 match against Los Angeles Valiant and winning the other 7, some of them against formidable opponents such as New York Excelsior. A top 4 finish for Gladiators is guaranteed at this point, but I’m sure the team will want to place as high as possible. In particular, a 1st place finish would almost certainly allow it to dodge New York Excelsior in the Semifinals of the Stage 4 Title Matches.

Another week, another 2 guaranteed losses for Shanghai Dragons, a team that’s currently holding an undisputed record for the entire field of esports: 38 losses in a row. No doubt, the end result will be 0 V – 4 D for Dragons, as its final two opponents are very strong teams. Someone should really make a documentary about these guys as their journey during the Inaugural Season of the Overwatch League has been the stuff of legend.

Needless to say, Los Angeles Gladiators is several tiers above Shanghai Dragons in every respect. Regardless of what statistics you want to look at, this match should be an easy 3 – 1 or 4 – 0 victory in favor of Gladiators.

Betting prediction: Los Angeles Gladiators at BetOnline.

Los Angeles Valiant (8 V – 0 D) vs. San Francisco Shock (4 V – 4 D)

After a 7 W – 3 L record and a 3rd place finish in Stage 3, Los Angeles Valiant improved its playstyle and has crushed everyone so far in Stage 4. The team is currently sitting at the top of the league, even though it has already faced some of the other main contenders. Both New York Excelsior and Los Angeles Gladiators were defeated by LA Valiant in the previous weeks, a sign which clearly proves this version of the team is much stronger than any of the previous ones.

After transferring in the head coach of Boston Uprising, San Francisco Shock sought to improve its Stage 3 results even more, but unfortunately hasn’t managed to accomplish that goal. Without any doubt, Shock is headed towards a 5 V – 5 D result in Stage 4.

From head to head (4 – 0) to recent form results, every single type of indicator points towards a Los Angeles Valiant victory in this match.

Betting prediction: Los Angeles Valiant at BetOnline.

Seoul Dynasty (2 V – 6 D) vs. Dallas Fuel (5 V – 3 D)

Seoul Dynasty hasn’t had a very good run in Stage 4, winning just 2 of its matches and against completely irrelevant opponents: Shanghai Dragons and Florida Mayhem. Throughout the entire duration of the Overwatch League, Seoul Dynasty has been one of the fairly strong teams, finishing Stage 1, 2 and 3 in 5th (7 V – 3 D), 4th (7 V – 3 D) and 7th (5 V – 5 D) place respectively. In Stage 4, Dynasty lost very close matches against though opponents such as Los Angeles Valiant (2 – 3), Philadelphia Fusion (2 – 3) and London Spitfire (2 – 3). These close but unfortunate defeats are a testament to Seoul Dynasty’s capacity to hold its own against almost any adversary.

Dallas Fuel seems to have reinvented its playstyle and has performed fairly well so far in Stage 4, winning against strong opponents such as London Spitfire and Philadelphia Fusion and being ranked 4th in the standings table. Compare this situation to its 1 V – 9 D result from Stage 3 and you can’t help but be impressed with how much a team can improve in such a short period of time.

Going into this match, I think that Dallas Fuel has what it takes to walk away with a victory. Especially against this version of Seoul Dynasty.

Betting prediction: Dallas Fuel at BetOnline.

Betting predictions for June 9

London Spitfire (3 W – 4 L) vs. Los Angeles Gladiators (6 W – 1 L)

London Spitfire is the Stage 1 champion and has all the ingredients to win, but something is holding it back. In its first match of this week, Spitfire lost a close match against Los Angeles Valiant (score 1 – 2), by far the strongest team in the league right now. Overall, its Stage 4 results have been poor: just 3 wins and 4 losses. Among the defeated opponents I would mention San Francisco Shock and Seoul Dynasty.

Los Angeles Gladiators is absolutely owning right now. Just one loss (against LA Valiant) and 6 wins so far in Stage 4, the latest against the OWL giants from New York Excelsior. Things never looked better for Gladiators, who are now looking to get a top 3 finish in Stage 4 and play in the Title Matches once again.

Both recent form (3 W – 4 L vs. 6 W – 1 L) and head to head results (0 – 3) clearly favor LA Gladiators to win this match.

Betway puts the odds at 3.10 – 1.32 in favor of Los Angeles Gladiators, being somewhat reserved about Los Angeles Gladiators’ ability to totally crush Spitfire in this match. However, based on the team’s recent performances, I think that’s very likely to happen so these higher than usual odds only work in your favor.

Betting prediction: Los Angeles Gladiators to win, paying -312.5 at BetOnline.

New York Excelsior (5 W – 2 L) vs. San Francisco Shock (4 W – 3 L)

No doubt, New York Excelsior is still the strongest team in the league in terms of overall results, in spite of losing its last two matches: 2 – 3 against Los Angeles Valiant and 2 – 3 against Los Angeles Gladiators. Based on their Stage 4 performance and also on the head to head record between these two teams (2 – 0 in favor of Excelsior), New York Excelsior is clearly favorite to win this match.

After transferring in the head coach of Boston Uprising, San Francisco Shock transformed its playstyle and has gotten better and better with every passing week. Its 4 W – 3 L record speaks for itself and we will likely see this team climbing even higher than its current 7th place in the standings table. In Stage 4, San Francisco Shock’s victories came against Dallas Fuel, Houston Outlaws, Seoul Dynasty and Boston Uprising, while the defeats were suffered at the hands of Los Angeles Gladiators, Philadelphia Fusion and London Spitfire.

Betway puts the odds for this match at 1.22 – 3.80 in favor of New York Excelsior. Again, we can see the bookmaker being reserved about the stronger team’s real chances of winning (which are about 95%), simply because of a worrying sign. In this case, the fact that it lost its latest two matches. In reality, Excelsior is almost guaranteed to win this match so these odds are absolutely huge.

Betting prediction: New York Excelsior to win, paying -454.55 at BetOnline.

Houston Outlaws (5 W – 2 L) vs. Los Angeles Valiant (7 W – 0 L)

Houston Outlaws has had a very good run so far in Stage 4, but it’s highly unlikely that it will manage to beat Los Angeles Valiant, a team that seems completely unstoppable right now. Just last week, LA Valiant took down New York Excelsior in a close match (3 – 2) and is currently sitting on a perfect 7 W – 0 L record.

After a 7 W – 3 L record and a 3rd place finish in Stage 3, LA Valiant upgraded its playstyle and has crushed everyone so far in Stage 4. The team is currently sitting at the top of the league, even though it has already faced some of the other main contenders. Both New York Excelsior and Los Angeles Gladiators fell to Valiant’s might last week, a sign which clearly proves this version of Los Angeles Valiant is much stronger than any of the previous ones.

Last time they met (in Stage 3), Houston Outlaws won the match with a score of 3 – 1. But things have changed a lot since then and it’s unlikely that Outlaws will be able to achieve a positive result against this version of LA Valiant.

Betway puts the odds at 2.95 – 1.35 in favor of Los Angeles Valiant, giving Houston Outlaws a lot of respect, simply because it won its last encounter against Valiant and also because it’s played pretty well so far in Stage 4. In the end though, Valiant should absolutely win this match.

Betting prediction: Los Angeles Valiant to win, paying -285.71 at BetOnline.

Betting predictions for June 8

Boston Uprising (1 W – 6 L) vs. Shanghai Dragons (0 W – 7 L)

Boston Uprising has suffered the most shocking drop imaginable in the last 4 weeks, going from a 10 W – 0 L record in Stage 3 to a current 1 W – 6 L record in Stage 4. I’m not sure how that was even possible for a team that seemed unstoppable for the entire duration of Stage 3, but apparently the loss of its head coach has played a significant role in this. For the time being, Boston Uprising is in complete free fall, but its next opponent will surely make it look like a great team again.

With every passing week, Shanghai Dragons improves its all-time record. And not just for Overwatch, but the entire esports industry. This team has lost its first 37 matches, getting 0 wins so far in the Overwatch League and representing the perfect cash cow for any person with an interest in Overwatch betting. Whatever the odds may be, that is basically free money to be made whenever you’re betting against Shanghai Dragons in a match.

Betting prediction: Boston Uprising to win, paying -625 at BetOnline.

Florida Mayhem (1 W – 6 L) vs. Dallas Fuel (4 W – 3 L)

Apart from Shanghai Dragons, Florida Mayhem is the weakest team in the league, and its chances against Dallas Fuel in this match are absolutely 0.

Dallas Fuel seems to have resurrected its roster and playstyle and has performed really well so far in Stage 4, winning against tough opponents such as London Spitfire and Philadelphia Fusion and being ranked 6th in the standings table. Compare that to its 1 W – 9 L Stage 3 performance and you can’t help but be amazed at how much a team can improve in such a short period of time. Fuel’s two losses came against Los Angeles Gladiators and San Francisco Shock, both of them strong teams.

Betting prediction: Dallas Fuel to win, paying -303.03 at BetOnline.

Philadelphia Fusion (3 W – 3 L) vs. Seoul Dynasty (2 W – 5 L)

Philadelphia Fusion had a fairly poor run in Stage 3, finishing 8th with a record of 5 W – 5 L. In Stage 4, the team has had a very similar path so far, losing against Los Angeles Gladiators, Dallas Fuel and New York Excelsior and winning against 3 irrelevant teams: Shanghai Dragons, Florida Mayhem and Boston Uprising.

Seoul Dynasty hasn’t done too well in Stage 4, winning just 2 of its matches and against completely irrelevant opponents: Florida Mayhem and Shanghai Dragons. These results don’t tell the whole story though. Throughout the entire duration of the Overwatch League, Seoul Dynasty has been one of the fairly strong teams, finishing Stage 1, 2 and 3 in 5th (7 W – 3 L), 4th (7 W – 3 L) and 7th (5 W – 5 L) place respectively. In Stage 4, Dynasty lost very close matches against strong opponents such as Los Angeles Valiant (2 – 3) and London Spitfire (2 – 3). These close but unfortunate results are a testament to Seoul Dynasty’s strength and ability to hold its own against almost any opponent.

Betting prediction: Seoul Dynasty to win, paying +250 at BetOnline.

Betting predictions for June 7

Los Angeles Valiant (6 V – 0 D) vs. London Spitfire (3 V – 3 D)

After a good result in Stage 3 (3rd place with 7 V – 3 D), Los Angeles Valiant went full champion mode in Stage 4 and is currently sitting at the top of the league with 6 victories and 0 defeats. In particular, the team’s victory against New York Excelsior from last week clearly proved that Valiant is on a completely different level right now. I’m expecting it to finish Stage 4 in 1st place but then lose the Grand Final of the Title Matches against New York Excelsior.

London Spitfire is the Stage 1 Title Matches winner but in Stage 3, it finished barely 6th with 5 victories and 5 defeats. So far, it seems to be going the same way in Stage 4. Spitfire isn’t a weak team though, and its 3 victories in Stage 3 clearly proved that. San Francisco Shock, Seoul Dynasty and Boston Uprising lost against London Spitfire during the first 3 weeks of this stage.

The recent form and overall performance statistics favor Los Angeles Valiant to win this match. However, these two teams have already met each other twice, and Spitfire won both times with a score of 3 – 2. That makes this match a great opportunity to bet on the underdog. No doubt, Spitfire’s odds for this match will be huge, simply because the team is regarded as a longshot against Los Angeles Valiant. So even a bet with a +1.5 maps handicap on Spitfire will yield really high profits.

Betting prediction: London Spitfire to win +1.5, paying +162 at BetOnline.

Los Angeles Gladiators (5 V – 1 D) vs. New York Excelsior (5 V – 1 D)

After a 4th place finish in Stage 3, Los Angeles Gladiators began Stage 4 at the peak of its powers and has won 5 matches so far. The team’s only loss came against Los Angeles Valiant. Other than that, victories against other strong opponents such as San Francisco Shock, Houston Outlaws and Philadelphia Fusion clearly proved that Gladiators is a top contender in Stage 4.

New York Excelsior is by far the strongest contender in the Overwatch League in terms of overall results, having a record of 32 V – 4 D. Last week, Excelsior lost against Los Angeles Valiant in a very close series but is still much stronger than any other team in the league. So I don’t see how Gladiators could overcome this hurdle and actually upset the established order.

The two previous matches between these two teams ended with 2 New York Excelsior victories. Furthermore, Excelsior has performed much better than Gladiators throughout the entire duration of the Overwatch League. That clearly suggests that it’s the favorite here and by a lot, in spite of the current identical Stage 4 record: 5 V – 1 D for both teams.

Betting prediction: New York Excelsior to win at BetOnline.

San Francisco Shock (4 V – 2 D) vs. Philadelphia Fusion (3 V – 3 D)

After bringing in Boston Uprising’s head coach, San Francisco Shock made some serious improvements and is now sitting in 4th place with 4 victories and 2 defeats. The victories came against Seoul Dynasty, Houston Outlaws, Dallas Fuel and Boston Uprising, while the defeats came against Los Angeles Gladiators and London Spitfire.

Philadelphia Fusion finished Stage 3 in a modest 8th place with 5 victories and 5 defeats. For the time being, the team seems to be headed towards a similar result. In Stage 4, Fusion won against 3 irrelevant opponents (Boston Uprising, Florida Mayhem and Shanghai Dragons) and lost against Dallas Fuel, New York Excelsior and Los Angeles Gladiators. It seems that every time it faces a strong team, Fusion has a high chance of choking. Because of that, I fully expect San Francisco Shock to win this match.

The latest match between these 2 teams took place in Stage 3 and ended with a clear victory in favor of San Francisco Shock (score 3 – 1).

Betting prediction: San Francisco Shock to win at BetOnline.
