Our esports betting apps table is geo-targeted to only show apps you are able to download:

Best esports betting app in 2024

The best esports betting apps are usually produced by the most popular online gambling companies — simply because they have the most resources to pour into their operations.

The other key consideration when using online betting apps, is what type of device you have. The two main types of betting apps used in 2024 are Android and iOS, with the latter more commonly known as Apple.

There have been other apps developed for devices like Blackberries and Nokia’s but Android and iOS apps are the two types of smartphones and tablets are easily the most used when talking about online betting.

While esports betting apps are extremely convenient, not just because you have a shortcut on your device’s desktop, but also are quicker to load that a mobile site and update dynamically.

Often the top esports bet apps will also have other features, like free tips competitions, or promotions for using certain parts of the app.

The top Australian esports betting apps include:

**In our experiences using Australian esports betting apps there is ver little difference between Android and iOS versions, although the process to download them has significant differences.

Best Android esports betting apps

Those looking to bet on esports via Android betting apps or even via instant-play betting sites are in luck. Android smartphone users have more freedom than iOS users when it comes to downloading betting apps in Australia.

Android esports betting apps can be downloaded directly from an online bookmaker, rather than from the Google Play store.

You will need to Allow non-market apps to download an esports betting app directly from a Aussie bookmaker, but this only takes a second, and takes effect immediately.

Because there is less red-tape around Android esports betting, it means it’s more likely online bookmakers will have this type of app. However because Australia is such a developed sports betting market, most bookies down under also have iOS betting apps.

Best iOS esports betting apps

Apple users have got the iOS operating system on their handheld devices and good news is you can download betting apps for these devices.

Apple esports betting apps in Australia, have got to be downloaded directly from the Apple App store, unless you have a jailbroken phone, but we will assume you don’t.

Because Apple has high standards around abiding by Australian laws, they will only show betting apps that are legal in Australia. This means you won’t be able to download an iOS betting app for an offshore bookie without some serious wrangling, although why would you when there are so many good esports betting sites in Australia.

As an example you will find that every Australian betting company has got iOS apps available in the Apple App Store, while in countries like Dubai, where betting is illegal, you won’t find any betting apps for Apple phones and tablets.

eSports web apps 2024

Web apps allow you to create a shortcut on the desktop of your smartphone or tablet that allows you to access the mobile versions of esports betting sites quickly.

PUBGIt’s known as an esports web app because it sits on your homepage like any other app, it just has slightly different functionality, including not having to download software.

Creating an esports betting web app is a simple process and starts with visiting the betting site that you want to make a shortcut for.

You then follow a slightly different process to create a web app, depending on which type of device you are on. A simple Google search will teach you how to make a web app if you have not done it before on your phone. But as a general rule you hit the page options button and choose create shortcut.

Web apps can be a great way to load bookmaker’s website’s instantly, without having to punch in URLs into your mobile browser.

AU Betting apps and esports games

There is more and more esports that have been developed enough to warrant betting on them, with these the biggest esports games in the industry. When we first began covering Australian esports betting there were really only a handful of games that had odds available via betting apps in this part of the world. Now heading into 2024 there are often upwards of 15 different esports at any given time to bet on.

eSports available to bet on via Australian betting apps include:

AU esports betting app payments

The banking, or deposit options, at Australian esports betting sites are varied and most of these options are available on their apps — if they have them. Esports betting apps deposit options will vary dramatically from place to place. For instance Paypal is a common deposit method in places like the United Kingdom, where there is regulated esports betting, but you won’t find Paypal esports betting apps in places like India or Dubai, where sports betting is not legal.

Common payment methods in esports betting apps:

Australian betting app licensing

Australian betting apps must be licensed by a state or territory government, with the Northern Territory surprisingly the no.1 regulator down under. This means esports betting apps like Unibet, Rivalry and PlayUp all boast licenses from here.

Other bookies have their licensing from places like NSW Gaming and Liquor and the South Australian equivalent. These state-based gambling licenses give the betting apps permission to operate online within Australia.

Australian esports betting apps Q and A

Betting online can be a confusing experience for some people and doing so via your mobile phone or tablet can add an extra layer of confusing. Below are some of the questions we have been asked about esports betting apps and how they work. Feel free to drop us a comment in the box below if you have any queries about esports apps in Australia.

  • What is the best betting app for esports in Australia? The bet365 esports app has probably got the most markets out of any Aussie bookie. Although most Australian bookmaker apps are of a high standard.

May 22 brought a massive announcement from Epic Games the developers behind the ever-popular game “Fortnite”. Epic games revealed via an announcement on their website that they will provide $100,000,000 for prize pools between 2018-2019 to launch Fortnite flying in to the competitive esports scene.

Fornite has stolen the number one played and watched game on Twitch TV for months on end and continues to surprise fans with new content and ways to shake up the game however it has often been questioned whether viewership alone is enough to make a video game an esports title. Rival battle royale titles such as PUBG and H1Z1 have been attempting to sell the idea of Battle royales as viable esport event with some success. The team at Fortnite will be looking to draw from the success of these other titles, the overwhelming player-base and viewership currently obtained but have said they aim to make the experience more inclusive, saying the following “We’re getting behind competitive play in a big way, but our approach will be different – we plan to be more inclusive, and focused on the joy of playing and watching the game”.

The $100,000,000 prize pool offered will be the largest prize pool to be offered of any esports title ever and is sure to see competitive teams form all around the globe preparing to take their piece of it. Australian gaming team The Chiefs where quick to tweet and react showing their excitement for the announcement.

No details are currently known about the structure of the tournaments or platforms in which they will take place, Epic Games mentioning more details will follow in the following weeks.

Fortnite season 3 has come to a close and season 4 will launch on Wednesday.

The upcoming season of Fortnite has been extremely hyped topic with the labelled #FortniteMeteor confirmed to hit the map on Wednesday. The meteor first appeared weeks ago as a small shining light in the air and as season 4 has been approaching so has the Meteor.

Reddit was alight with speculation and theories as to what this could mean. One user believed these vibrations felt through the controller when looking at the meteor was morse code and showed the ever popular Tilted Towers was the target for the meteor, others believed that the meteor would mean the end for the current map and with season 4 would come a new map and battleground for the Battle Royale game.

Epic Games seems to have enjoyed toying with players by releasing a series of cryptic clues such as signs, emergency TV broadcasts and conspiracy theorist campsites complete with a telescope looking at the meteor. H1Z1 is a multiplayer online battle royale that was launched to the public through an Alpha stage on January 15, 2015, and more recently had its official reveal of February 28, 2018.

The game was originally known for it’s online “walking dead” styled game play where players would spawn in an open world area and the goal was to survive, with zombies and other players being the threats you would need to contend with. The game was later revamped when the Daybreak Team employed Brandon “Playerunknown” Greene to work on a battle royale mode for the game. Brandon was previously well known for his Battleground mod to game Arma 3 and his more recent title PlayerUnknown’s Battle Ground.

Under Brandon’s leadership the game split in to two versions originally H1Z1 & H1Z1 King of the Kill, the battle royale style mode: “King of the kill” quickly became the more popular and sought-after game mode and pioneered the structure that popular games like Fortnite and Battleground follow today.

While Battleground and Fortnite have seen much more success at the global scale, it cannot be forgotten that H1Z1 was the first of its kind to pioneer and show success using the style of game that seems to be replicated by a new game developer each day.

How the game is played

Players parachute into the map from random locations and as they land they must find supplies to defend themselves. Hiding and waiting is not an option as a toxic gas advances, thus reducing the safe zone. Eventually the remaining players will have to meet and fight.

There are several objects available for the players to grab, like weapons and medical kits. Vehicles and the possibility of building weapons are some of the innovations on H1Z1.

The game can be played in a solo mode, duo mode & squad mode, Squad mode seems to be the choice of the competitive structure however H1Z1 has also had success using the solo queue structure.

H1Z1 has shown a sample of it’s Esports ability previously hosting a $250,000 USD tournament at DreamHack Winter in Sweden on December 1-3 which saw the Infamous teams of Impact Gaming, Counter Logic Gaming and Method take out positions 1-3 in that order.

H1Z1 have also had great success with their invitational tournaments they run annually at Twitchcon with $500,000 USD up for grabs last year, $200,000 of which was awarded through an All-stars game in which had 75 popular Twitch TV personalities such as DrDisRespect & SodaPoppin competing against each other for their share in the prize and bragging rights.

H1Z1 Pro League

The team at Daybreak have shown H1Z1 is here to stay and plan to showcase H1Z1 as the competitive esports game of choice for battle royales with the launch of the H1Z1 Pro League in 2018.

The H1Z1 is coming to Las Vegas’s Ceasers Entertainent Studios launching April 21 of 2018 and each season is divided into 2 splits consisting of 10 weeks each which will be broadcasted through the official H1Z1 Facebook page

The league boasts claims of having Minimum player salaries, franchise team profit sharing and was said to be created “to give fans and players a permanent home for the most exciting battle royale competition esports has ever seen.”

Betting on H1Z1

While no current market Has been confirmed for the H1Z1 Pro League it should be expected, with the recent hype of battle royale games and H1Z1 being the first game to showcase an ongoing league it would a mistake to not have betting options available.

]]>
World of Warcraft fans and players were thrilled and shocked at the announcement last week revealing the long-standing game’s seventh expansion “Battle for Azeroth” will be released on August 14, 2018.

This date is a month earlier than the initial expected release date, September 21, so the bringing forward of the expansion by a month went down very well with current players as they push to complete the current end game content and test the new expansion in its current invite only alpha stage.

The expansion was initially revealed at Blizzard Entertainment’s annual game festival “Blizzcon” held at Anaheim, California late in 2017 and teased the story of the Alliance and Horde at war again after the questionable peace treaty they had during the Legion.

The expansion looks to be heavily based around the resource Azerite with both factions fighting to control the mysterious resource weeping from the planet.

The release date announcement was also accompanied by a new video teasing game-play and story of eagerly awaited expansion.

The expansion has so far confirmed:

  • The two new continents of Kul Tiras & Zandalar each with many zones to explore
  • New playable races known as “Allied races”
  • Level cap increased to 120
  • 10 new dungeons to conquer
  • Two new raids
  • Island expeditions – three player scenarios that can be queued PVE or PVP
  • Warfronts – RTS style scenario
  • Player stat squish and class revamps

Esports in Battle for Azeroth

The expansion looks set to drive the WoW Esports scene and initial thoughts are the story line the expansion is expected to be heavily PVP (player vs player) focused, which should mean a ton of focus and changes coming for the competitive PVP tournaments the World of Warcraft Esports scene was originally known for prior to the Mythic Dungeon Invitational.

With the structure of the story being focused around war it would be the perfect time to introduce Rated battle ground tournaments in to the competitive scene bringing 10 on 10 matches with objectives similar to that of Overwatch as opposed to the regular 3v3 death match.

Many are also speculating following the great success the Mythic Dungeon Invitational tournament they may follow a similar approach and implement the Island expeditions as a new competitive tournament mode.

It seemed only days ago that Fortnite was just an up and coming game in the shadow of PlayerUnkown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) but recently the game has become the new viral sensation leaving PUBG well behind in viewership and as a game of the past in some eyes.

Most recently hip-hop superstars Drake & Travis Scott along with Pittsburg Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster brought the game massive media attention when playing on the popular game streaming service Twitch.tv alongside Fortnite player and Twitch.tv streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. The stream quickly broke all records currently held by the site when the live stream reached over 630,000 live viewers which annihilated the previous record of 388,000 viewers held by Twitch.tv’s Dr. Disrespect who is commonly regarded to as the face of Twitch.tv’s PUBG section.

The unexpected duo of Drake & Ninja saw Fortnite take top trending spots on twitter and even had other celebrities such as Chrissy Teigen responding on the game and the duo. Since the stream, the internet has been in a frenzy and the duo have become the topic of thousands of discussions and memes; it’s safe to say we can expect further celebrities delving in to the gaming scene moving forward considering the publicity that it brought Drake and as shown by the 10,000 new paying subscribers that subscribed to Ninja on the night.

This all comes on the back of the announcement and alpha invites released for Fortnite’s Mobile version for IOS. The mobile version is set to be a direct port of the console and PC game and will be cross compatible meaning you are able to play with your friends on any console, even their mobile. The game is making a huge movement in mobile gaming and if executed correctly would be the most successful mobile port of a game since Hearthstone. Currently only available for IOS to invited participants Fortnite & Epic Games have said that Android devices will also be supported further down the line.

Fortnite Esports scene – Fortnite iOS released

It is hard to not see Fortnite moving closer to the professional esports scene as expected. The game is fun and exciting to watch and with viewership of over half a million viewers for an impromptu stream it could be expected that an official and marketed tournament should be able to well exceed this in to the millions of viewers. Many well-known regarded gaming organisations such as Team SoloMid have all been quick to come to the party and begin forming teams and with celebrities such as Drake publicly backing and endorsing the game there should be no stopping it.

Hearthstone’s characters, cards and classes are all based off the Warcraft franchise, players face off in a variety of different game modes with most being of the PVP (Player vs Player) variety.

Betting on Hearthstone

Currently only Bet365 have markets open for betting on Hearthstone esports tournaments.

These betting markets range from Match Winner (Head-to-Head, Moneyline, Straight), and outright markets – which competitor will reach the final and which competitor will win the tournament.

With the game attracting such a wide fanbase, larger tournaments and a greater prize pool, it is expected that many other companies will adopt this in to their regular markets and it is expected more unique betting markets may start to appear. such as first to lose health, player to go first or second or first player to summon a legendary card.

About Hearthstone

Hearthstone is a popular video game turned competitive esport for perfectly embodying the classic saying, “easy to learn, difficult to master.”

The main objective of Hearthstone is to reduce your opponent’s health points to zero while ensuring you opponent does not do the same to you. Hearthstone differentiates itself from most other leading trading card games such as YU-GI- OH, Magic the Gathering and Pokémon TCG in the fact it is online only – completely digital, with no physical counterpart.

Basically, there are no cards you can purchase and collect in person, and this allows fans of the game to solely invest in one form of card collecting whereas other trading card games try and play both markets.

Hearthstone also uses the online only play to differentiate itself by having the player choose a Hero that they feel best represents them, these heroes are of many different classes, have access to different cards and unique class abilities.

Hearthstone Gameplay

Hearthstone’s simplicity is demonstrated in its rules. Each turn players have a certain mana pool, which grows by 1 each turn. Cards that can attack and defend are called minions and have a mana cost, restricting overpowered cards from being played in the first turn – which is a common occurrence and criticism in YU-GI-OH.

Minions also have an attack strength and a health pool and can either choose to attack another minion or choose to attack the Hero directly. This may seem minor, but it opens a wide variety of strategic options and tactics for the players.

The typical dilemma of the standard Hearthstone game is whether you attack the hero to lead you directly closer to the goal of reducing all 30 health points of your opponent and winning, or whether to attack other enemy minions to try and establish overall board control. In high-level esports play, the best pro players balance both options.

Hearthstone esports

Hearthstone was quick to launch itself into the competitive scene, with series creator Blizzard Entertainment only waiting a few months from its closed beta release to host their first major tournament at the annual Blizzcon gaming convention in 2013.

Blizzard selected 8 players to compete in the first tournament, with the professional Starcraft commentator Artosis taking out the title “Grandmaster of Hearth” after winning nine of 12 matches. Things moved quickly the following year with over US$1 million in prize money awarded over 52 different tournaments held throughout the year.

Moving forward to 2018, Hearthstone has no plans of slowing down. Blizzard kicked off the new year with the 4th Annual HCT (Hearthstone Championship Tour) World Championship, which commenced on January 18. A total of 16 players whom qualified through various events throughout 2017 will be playing for their share in US $1 million in a live tournament held in Amsterdam, spread out over 4 days. Whoever takes first place will take home $250,000, but even placing 16th will still see a player walk away with a cool $25,000.

Starting in 2019, Hearthstone introduced a new esports competition which would be known as Hearthstone Grandmasters. Hearthstone Grandmasters had two eight-week seasons, with the best players at the end of both seasons qualifying for the World Championships at the end of each year. However, after listening to their fans and players of their game, Hearthstone have announced that the 2022 Hearthstone Grandmasters will be the last year that the competition will run.

We will now have to wait to see what Hearthstone brings us next, as their has been no announcement as to what esports competition will run in 2024.

The Oceanic Pro League kicks off the Split one season on January 20 and the competition is set to be the biggest yet.

This season’s format sees the eight teams split in to two groups with teams competing in a double round robin within each group and a single across the two groups.

The Season is scheduled to run for 10 weeks with teams from Australia, New Zealand and surrounding islands battling it out for top honours in League of Legends.

All matches are played best of three in an every game matters point system; where winning 2-0 grants three points for the winning team, winning 2-1 grants two points to the winning team and one point to the loser.

After the split the top five teams advance to the Playoffs and qualify for the 2018 OPL split two while the remaining three will have to refight for their spot in the split two promotion series.

Suspensions rock start of OPL

The season has opened in a storm of negative publicity with a swag of players suspended for poor behaviour. Riot Games released a statement saying eight players have been whacked with suspensions after violating the OPL ruleset, with penalties handed down under section 10.2.8. This section encompasses the terms of use article 5.1: negative behaviour.

“As the premier league in Oceanic LoL Esports, it is essential that OPL players represent the highest standards of player behavior. We will be working directly with the teams and players to improve in this area and ensure that these are isolated instances, not recurring trends,” the statement read.

The following players have been suspended for excessive in-game toxicity.

Player Team Penalty
Charles “Pinch” Wraith Avant Gaming Suspended for two competitive weeks
Carlo “Looch” La Civita Bombers Suspended for two competitive weeks
Christian “Sleeping” Tiensuu Bombers Suspended for two competitive weeks
Quin “Raes” Korebrits Chiefs Esports Suspended for two competitive weeks
Min “Mimic” Ju-Sung Legacy Esports Suspended for two competitive weeks
Mike “Cuden” Le Sin Gaming Suspended for two competitive weeks
Milo? “Milky” Mladenovi? Sin Gaming Suspended for two competitive weeks

OPL Split Season 1 Accumulator of the Week

Dire Wolves to beat Chiefs – $1.48
Order to beat Tectonic with the -1.5 handicap – $1.38
Sin gaming with the +1.5 handicap $2.17
Bombers with the +1.5 handicap at $1.61

Where to place the bet: $7.13 on the dollar with Pinnacle.com

NB: All times are in Australian Eastern Standard Times

Chiefs Vs Dire wolves – 20/01/2018 – 1pm

Chiefs vs Dire wolves promises to be a cracker and sees the 2017 grand final replayed here in the opening week and is the game to watch.

Chiefs were the infamous team who couldn’t be beaten taking out the 2015 and 2016 OPL Split Two Playoffs before Dire Wolves assembled one of the strongest rosters the OPL had seen and became the second ever OPL champions defeating The Chiefs for the 2017 title.

Chiefs game roster Swip3rR in the top lane, Bapip in the jungle, ry0ma in the middle and former Dire wolves player and now strategic coach Phantiks take over from suspended player Raes in the ADC position, with former Dire Wolves player Destiny also on support.

With a new roster the team set up a boot camp in Korea in the preseason to take on Korea’s best teams to get to understand the team’s strengths and develop new strategies, a move which is being reported as a great success.

Dire Wolves, the defending champions are back, and ready to defend their title the against former champions and runner up The Chiefs. Dire Wolves roster has existing member Chippys in the top lane, Shernfire in the Jungle and K1ng in the ADC position, they also have replaced their former mid Phantiks with Triple from Avant Garde and Cupcake for the support position from team legacy.

The game looks to be a thriller, Dire wolves not having the substitution and based on last year’s performance look to head in as the favorite and should be where your money is at. However Chiefs recent boot camp in Korea may prove to have helped bridge the gap between the teams.

Prediction and place bet: Dire Wolves to win this $1.48 at Pinnacle.com

Tectonic Vs Order – 20/01/2018 – 4pm

Tectonic vs Order looks to be a clear-cut game with Order being the new team in the competition coming in with a power house team of old faces. With Tally in the top lane, Spookz in the jungle, Swiffer in the mid lane, FBI as ADC and Rogue as the team’s support.

Tectonic are also a new team that qualified in the loser’s bracket of the play offs after losing to the now rebranded Bombers. The team features Papryze in the top lane, Swathe in the jungle, Shok in the mid lane, Low as ADC and Tilting as the team’s support.

Prediction and place bet: Take Order with the -1.5 handicap at $1.381 at Pinnacle.com

Sin Gaming Vs Legacy Esports – 21/01/2018 – 1pm

Sin Gaming Vs Legacy Esports is an even match on paper that could go either way. Long time Legacy player Carbon is taking the back seat now as he moves to a managerial position and substitute making way for the next generation of legacy players.

This game we can expect Ceres in the top, Sybol in the jungle, Claire in the mid lane and Raid as ADC with Decoy as the team’s support.

Sin gaming come in to this game the underdog on paper. The expected team is Praedyth in the top lane, Juves in the Jungle, Bdoink in mid and Dream as the ADC. Both support and substitute support are on suspension, so it is not currently known who will be filling the support position.

This is Legacy’s game to lose and on any normal day they win this take, but Sin Gaming definitely have the ability to take a game out of the three.

Prediction and place bet: Legacy for the win at Pinnacle at $1.22 or if you are feeling like a curve ball take Sin with the +1.5 handicap at $2.17.

Bombers Vs Avant Garde – 21/01/2018 – 4pm

The team getting the most media attention at the moment is the Bombers which is the Essendon Football Club of the AFL’s eSports branch.

The team comes up against the historic team of Avant Garde.

The final team rosters are yet to be confirmed for the game and Avant Garde comes in as favorite by the bookies but you can expect the Bombers side to come out strong after the work that has been put in from the football club. Both team’s are impacted by suspensions however the large roster of the Bombers should ensure it doesn’t affect their side greatly.

First week it’s hard to call, but it’s hard to see the Bombers at least not taking a game.

Prediction and place bet: Take the Bombers with the +1.5 Handicap at $1.61 with Pinnacle.com.
