TSM have announced the recruitment of Stephen Cieplik to their front office, where he will serve as the organization’s Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).

In his role with one of North America’s most recognized esports franchises, Cieplik will be expected to lead the team’s partnership, monetization and revenue-growth initiatives. His reign will cover all of the organization’s long list of rosters across various esports titles and content creators.

TSM’s Chief Executive Officer, Walter Wang, welcomed Cieplik to the organization and spoke to his expertise and how it aligns with the franchise’s goals.

“Stephan’s global expertise and proven record in building revenue growth aligns with our strategies as we move forward,” Wang said.

“We could not be happier to welcome his leadership, insight, and unique perspective to TSM’s executive team.”

Cieplik expressed his excitement to be a part of one of the leading esports franchises in the world. He shared his thoughts on the organization’s goals and how he intends to aid TSM in attaining their goals.

“I am thrilled to join TSM, a world-recognized leader and one of the highest-valued organisations in esports, and utilise my knowledge and experience in the sport of the future,” Cieplik said.

“The leadership team at TSM has impressed me with their vision to become the most entertaining, competitive, and successful esports organisation in the world.

“I am confident in my commitment to accelerate TSM’s growth ambitions by building and leading a dynamic, high-performing commercial operations division with industry-leading, innovative, and audience-engaging approaches to deliver future success to new heights.”

Prior to joining TSM, Cieplik was the Senior Vice President of Global Partnership Sales at City Football Group — the parent company of the English football club Manchester City. During his nine years with the group, he was credited with generating over $1.15 billion in revenue through sports partnerships.

An award-winning executive in sports marketing and commercialization, Cieplik has also worked with Total Sports Asia and the Sian Football Confederation. His impact on global sports has seen him spend time in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and most recently, the US.

His appointment comes on the heels of TSM’s suspension of their $210 million naming rights deal with the cryptocurrency exchange company FTX, which recently filed for bankruptcy. Prior to the suspension, the organization had featured the exchange’s logo on its jerseys and across its various social media channels.
